EU VAT Points to Note
We would like to offer our Japanese green tea at the lowest possible price to all overseas customers looking for organic tea, so this year we have standardized our selling price with the Japanese price.
However, we are now faced with the problem of shipping costs to other countries.
We also found that registering as a VAT payer did not help us in the end.
In other words, if we were to receive and pay the VAT, we would have to pay 3,300 yen for each delivery.
We thought we could avoid inconveniencing our customers, but…
Our conclusion is that we will ask the customer to pay the VAT if he/she requests it.
